Thinking Big with Nano

The Australian Nanotechnology Network and the Australian National Fabrication Facility in partnership with RMIT University present 'Thinking BIG with Nano'. This workshop tailored for early-career researchers and late-stage PhD candidates will showcase research translation in nanotechnology and provide facilitated training in taking ideas from concepts to a viable business.

 

The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for early career researchers (ECRs) and postgraduate students working on nanotechnology research to interact with industry leader and learn about how to commercialise Nanotechnology. Industry leaders will share experiences in commercialising technologies.

Workshop  Registration

Attendance is open to all staff, postgraduate, and undergraduate students at Australian research institutions, centres, and organisations (Universities, CSIRO, DSTO, ANSTO, industry, etc.). Preference will be given to ECRs, postgraduate students, and ANN members.

There will be no registration fee for attendance at the workshop, however all participants are asked to register for catering purposes. In the event you register and are unable to attend, we ask that you cancel your registration to give others an opportunity to attend.

All registrants will receive a workshop pack with the main program and all abstracts in electronic format and have access to all sessions, morning/afternoon teas, lunches, and BBQ on the first night.

Travel Support

Registration costs are minimal and early-bird attendees will be able to apply for travel and carer grants (with up to 40 grants of $400-800 each available). Travel grants will be in the form of reimbursement for airfares, accommodation, or related travel costs up to the awarded amount. Carer grants will be in the form of reimbursement for additional carer costs, travel for accompanying dependent or carers, and any reasonable carer expenses incurred due to event participation.


Wireless Internet

All workshop  participants will have access to wireless internet at the venue. Login procedures will be provided in the workshop pack. Alternatively, participants could also utilise ‘eduroam’ (http://www.eduroam.edu.au/ ) validated by their home institution login details. It is recommended that users setup ‘eduroam’ at their home institution first for ease of access.
