17th International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Solar Energy 2008
Sydney, Australia 27/07/2008 - 01/08/2008
Given global concerns regarding sustainable management of energy and resources, the 17th International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Storage of Solar Energy (IPS-17) is a highly relevant and appropriate forum for addressing such issues. Traditionally a northern hemisphere-based conference, Australia will play the host for the first time to this groundbreaking scientific event over the period of July 27-Aug 1, 2008. The conference will aim to discuss innovative concepts and technologies with a focus on nanoscale science as a revolutionary approach to solving the challenges facing the efficient storage, conversion and utilisation of solar energy. The greatest hurdle to successfully implementing solar technology is the relatively low efficiency of current materials. Integrating nanostructured materials into the technology is seen as a promising means of improving efficiencies and driving down costs.
