Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Nanoparticle and nanofiber generation for drug delivery, wound care therapy and as bioscaffolds for tissue/orthopaedic engineering.
Piezoelectric ultrasonic microactuators with sub-nm to arbitrary positioning capability.

Nanotechnology research facilities:

1-D Laser Doppler vibrometer: GRAPHTEC AT3600/0027 for measurement of acceleration, velocity, and displacement over 0.001 Hz ~ 10 MHz, 0~10 m/s, and 10 pm to 10 cm in displacement.
30,000 fps Olympus camera for high-speed photography and videography, combined with an inverted Olympus BX41 wide-view microscope, in addition to numerous USB cameras and CCD microscopes for microvisualization.
Signal generation and amplification equipment to drive devices from DC to 1.1GHz at 1kW (DC-150kHz), 100W (150kHz-10MHz), and 10W (10MHz-1.1GHz).
