Current Research Activities

I have gained world-wide recognition as an innovator in the photonics structures and devices design, with particular emphasis on robust and experimentally realistic optical structures in midrange refractive indexes,
such as chalcogenide glasses and diamond. This reputation arises from my doctoral studies under Prof. Love, one of Australia’s pioneers in photonics and six years in the world-renowned ARC Centre of Excellence for Ultrahighbandwidth Devices for Optical Systems, at the University of Sydney (USYD). Currently, I am holding an ARC Australian Research Fellowship (2010-2015) at the School of Physics, University of Melbourne (UoM) working closely with Prof. Prawer. Australian researchers, including myself, have conducted pioneering research in diamond photonics. I have been significantly contributing to this new emerging field since 2005.
The research skills and experience I attained at the ANU, USYD and UoM provide a world-leading platform to carry out interdisciplinary nature projects and build collaboration across research institutions.
