Current Research Activities

Development of innovative microanalysis techniques for characterisation of advanced materials for frontier technologies
Microcharacterisation of the defect structures of wide band gap and insulating materials, in particular silicon dioxide polymorphs, III-V semiconductors, II-VI nanocrystals, silicon and diamond, and nanostructured variants of these materials.
Irradiation induced microstructural defect generation and transformation in wideband gap and insulating materials.
Charge trapping in wide band gap and insulating materials (electron/ion - material interactions).
Cathodoluminescence Microanalysis (spectroscopy and microscopy).
Scanning Electron Microscopy/ Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy.
Scanning Probe Microscopy, in particular electric techniques
