Current Research Activities

Adamís PhD research focused on the study of the thermally induced reshaping properties of metallic nanoparticles, quantifying these reshaping properties on a single particle level. In addition to the fundamental investigations into nanoparticle heating, we also examine the application of this heating. We focus on how selective heating of gold nanorods can be used to impose alignment onto films of gold nanorods, and apply this technique to nanorods in a multilayer structure. We also work with electron-beam lithography to create multilayer aligned arrays of gold nanorods.
