Postgraduate Symposium on Nanotechnology
Perth 21/07/2005 - 22/07/2005
The Australian Research Council Nanotechnology Network (ARCNN) held its first Postgraduate Symposium on Nanotechnology at the University of Western Australia, following the International Workshop on Nanotechnology held there from 17-20 July.
The Symposium was chaired by Dr Adam Micolich from the University of New South Wales. A total of 22 postgraduate research students from around Australia presented talks and there was a total of 60 attendees.
Professor David Joy from the University of Knoxville, USA, was an invited speaker and gave a talk titled “Want a Career in Nanoscience?”.
The aim of the symposium was to provide a forum where postgraduate students working on nanotechnology research could present their work, meet other students and researchers, and interact with other research groups in Australia.
The Symposium was a great success and planning is now underway for a combined postgraduate student and early career researcher symposium to be held later in 2005
