The ARC Australian Research Network for Advanced Materials 2006 Annual Event will be an informal workshop in Brisbane at the University of Queensland targeted for around 140 - 150 participants

The two and a half day workshop will focus on the following four research areas:

• Materials drivers for high tech IT, communications and sensor applications
• Innovative structural and functional materials for diverse applications
• Materials solutions for advanced manufacturing
• Materials for a sustainable Australia
