ARC Nanotechnology Network

Materials and Complexity IV Workshop

ANU Kioloa Campus 14/11/2006 - 18/11/2006

The meeting will be a 3 day workshop on "Materials and Complexity" to be held at the ANU Kioloa campus.

This workshop title encompasses a wide range of topics of highly interdisciplinary nature relevant to nano length scales and connecting the morphology of materials with their physical/chemical properties.

Each of the three workshop days will stand under a particular theme as follows:

  • Day 1: Nanotechnology
  • Day 2: Advanced Materials
  • Day 3: Complex systems

The program follows an established and successful recipe for stimulating discussions. All participating students and ECRs are encouraged to give a talk on their research project.

There will be two international invited speakers:

  • Paul T. Callaghan, FRS (Prof and Head, MaDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, Victoria University of Wellington)
  • Klaus R. Mecke (Prof and Head of Theoretical Physics, University of Neurnberg-Erlangen)
