Third Australian Nanoindentation Workshop
Kioloa 05/07/2009 - 07/07/2009
Nanoindentation is currently a topic of much interest as it enables the mechanical properties of materials and thin-films to be measured on the nanoscale. Furthermore a number of new nanoindentation systems have been recently acquired by a number of groups across Australia.
Dr Michelle Oyen from Cambridge University will attending the workshop as the invited speaker. http://oyenlab.wordpress.com/facilities-and-equipment/ Dr Oyen is an expert on biomaterials applications of nanoindentation.
Outline of program:
Sunday 5th July
Arrive at ANU and registration 2-5pm
Welcome BBQ
Evening Instrument User Meeting
Monday 6th July
Morning: Seminar-style lectures on the fundamentals of indentation by established researchers. This will be targeted towards those who are relatively new to the technique such as students and ECRs.
Afternoon: Presentations from groups working on nanoindentation
