Our resaerch is aimed at developing an understanding of the structure of naoporous materials and their adsorption and transport properties. Density functional theory and reverse Monte Carlo simulation based reconstruction are used to develop structural models of carbons and other naoporous amterials, and GCMC as well as molecular dynamics simulations are used to detremine trequilibrium and transport properties of adsorbed molecules. Theories of transport are also being developed in conjunction with MD simulations.Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:
4 PhD students and three postdoctoral fellows. Annual budget of about $300,000.Nanotechnology research facilities:
1. High pressure thermogravimetric analyser2. FTIR
