Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Theory of the stability and synthesis of hollow nanoparticles.
Theory of internal oxidation of Ag/Mg alloys to form nano-sized oxide inclusions.
Theory of electrical conductivity in nano-composites.
Theory of Ag nanoclusters formation in silver containing glass.  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

Annual grant income(ARC) is $0.75M of which roughly a third is devoted to nanotechnology.  

Nanotechnology research facilities:

The Diffusion in Solids Group is a theory/computational group. Its computational laboratory consists of 130 processors.
