Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Rheology of model and industrially important soft matter systems. Specific research activities include the examination of the influence of solvent mediated interactions on the rheological behavior of dilute polymer solutions; the study of the response to shear and extensional flow of solutions of DNA and other biomacromolecules, and of carbon nanotubes in liquids; the numerical simulation of viscoelastic free-surface flows.

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

3 Academics (Professor Tam Sridhar, Dr Ravi Jagadeeshan, Dr Prabhakar Ranganathan)
3 Postdoctoral fellows
3 Masters/PhD students
Annual budget:~$200,000-$300,000

Nanotechnology research facilities:

Rheology Research Laboratory, Department of Chemical Engineering, Monash University
