Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Molecular engineering of protein scaffolds for catalyzing light-driven electron transfer processes and splitting water into O2 and H2  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

Personnel: 2 researchers, 1-2 postdocs, 2-4 PhD students, 1-2 honors students

Annual budget including salaries, on-costs and infrastructure overhead: approx. $750,000  

Nanotechnology research facilities:

PC2 lab for making recombinent proteins;

Biochemistry lab for protein purefication;

Instrument lab for spectroscopic analysis, including UV-visible absorption & fluorescence, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR)and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy
