Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

- Control of scanning probe microscopes
- High-bandwidth and high-precision nanoscale positioning systems
- Probe-based data storage systems
- MEMS and NEMS
- Control of dual-stage hard disk drive
- Smart materials and structures  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

About ten researchers (including academic staff, postdocs, students) and growing.  

Nanotechnology research facilities:

Atomic force microscopes; PSV-300 Laser Scanning Vibrometer; MSA-400 Micro System Analyzer; dSPACE rapid prototyping systems; 2D and 3D nanopositioning platfors, and many other equipment.
