Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

The Smart materials and Structures group undertake research on smart composite structures and the use of nano sensors for smart structures and structural health monitoring. The group also undertake development of smart/hybrid composite structures using nano scale materials.  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

Three academic/research staff are working under this group and there are three academic/research staff partially associated with this group. The group undertakes a number of research projects including collaborative projects with Boeing Research and Technolgy, Australia, Boeing Aircraft Co, USA and CRC-Advanced Composite Structures, Australia.

SEM and Optical Microscopy
Complete polymer testing laboratory
Complete structural testing laboratory
Composite manufacturing facility
