Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Our typical research activities include:
(1) Synthesis, physics and applications of macromolecules
(2) Silica and titania nanoparticles for advanced applications in water-treatment
(3) Quantum dots (QD) and their applications in biological detection and solar energy
(4) Lanthanide nanoparticles for early-stage cancer detection and bio-imaging
(5) Gold nanoparticles and surface enhanced Raman scattering
(6) Self-assemble monolayers and self-assembly
(7) Gene and drug delivery
(8) Tissue engineering  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

The research team has 2 postdocs and more than 10 PhD students.
The reserch grant from ARC DP is about 1.3 million dolloars.

Hydrothermal Synthesis, vacuum manifolds for polymer synthesis, dynamic light scattering, high speed centrifuge, vacuum evaporator, freeze dryer, flow cytometer, rheometer, XRD, contact angle, Raman microscope, Fluorescence spectrophotometer, HPLC, GPC, etc.
