Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

- Application of risk management methods for safety assessment of nanoparticles
- DPM particle penetration and filtration efficiency of respiratory protection
- The role of emissions based maintenance to reduce diesel exhaust emissions and increased productivity
- Development of standardised instrumentation for measurement of diesel particulate from diesel engines operating in underground mines
-Nanotoxicology research collaborations with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) investigating the toxicity of nanoparticles in sunscreen products and diesel exhaust emissions
-Collaboration with US National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (US NIOSH) related to research proposals of work health and safety of nanotechnology
-Collaboration with Iran Nanosafety Network (INSN) adapting ISO standards for testing and safety evaluation of nanoparticles, engaging in Scientific Committee of Nanosafety Conferences, and conducting a Workshop of Safety and Health in Nanotechnology for Conference delegates
