Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Molecular electronics (design and study of molecular components for electronics including wires, switches and transistors; metal complexes in molecular electronics; molecule-surface contacts; deposition of high quality electrical contacts (electrodes) on monolayers)  

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

A University research group comprising 1 - 2 postdoctoral fellows, 1 - 3 PhD students and 1 - 3 undergraduate project students

Annual budget ca. $150,000  

Nanotechnology research facilities:

Full synthetic chemistry laboratory
UV-vis-NIR, IR and Raman spectroelectrochemistry
Keysight 5500 STM/AFM for single molecule electrical characterisation
