Nanotechnology Research Programs/Activities:

Single Molecule Spectroscopy - probing optical and electronic properties on single molecules
Thin film (< 100 nm) organic electronics
Supramolecular self-assembly (nano-aggregates few 100 nms) and optical spectroscopy

Scale of Nanotechnology Research Effort:

We are a new group - currently 4 group members including myself, 1 PhD and 2 honours. 2 postdocs and 2 PhDs to join later this year. Funded via DP16 and CE17. Currently in the process of ramping up the efforts in nanotechnology, hence, difficult to put down an annual budget of our efforts.

Nanotechnology research facilities:

Use conventional confocal spectrometers, FCS and TIRF microscopes for single molecule studies in the visible.
Home built NIR single molecule spectrometer underway - to be ready by the end of this year.
Device fabrication facilities share with UNSW under LIEF15.
Spincoater, wet-lab and glovebox for sample preparation.
