Current Research Activities

The main research focus of my PhD encompasses synthesising peptides to probe protein-protein interaction sites. This information allows us to design and then synthesise constrained peptides, with restricted secondary structure, to act as competitive inhibitors of disease-related protein-protein interactions. I also look at how we can better detect these compounds within a biological system by using fluorescent peptide constraints as part of my work with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale Biophotonics (CNBP) and the Institute for Photonics & Advanced Sensing (IPAS).
