Current Research Activities

I am Dr. Thejus Baby, a Biotechnology/Biomedical engineer with more than 7 years of research experience in the multidisciplinary field encompassing – Nanomedicine, Biotechnology, Polymer chemistry and Cancer biology. I was conferred my PhD degree in late 2018 for my thesis titled ‘Microfluidic synthesis of biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery’, by the University of Queensland, Australia. I have thus far in my research career, obtained 1 provisional patent (Australia) and published 6 research articles. Prior to my PhD, I did my Masters by research in Nanomedicine, where I worked on 2 research projects. This work led to 3 research publications and I was subsequently successful in obtaining a Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India Junior Research fellowship (JRF) at the National Centre for Cell Sciences (NCCS), Pune, India. I worked for 2 years in this position and I was involved in the development of peptide based nanocarriers for breast cancer drug/vaccine delivery.
